Best Poker Equity Calculators 2026: Which One to Use, and How to Check It
The best poker equity calculators in 2026 depend on where you use them. Equilab is still the free desktop reference; ThinkGTO and PokerPro run free in the browser, without an account; Flopzilla, a paid tool, shows how a range hits a board; PokerStove is no longer updated. We do not make a calculator: the table below gives exact equities, computed with our own engine, so you can check any of them. Checked October 10, 2026.
Disclosure: we make Poker Puzzle Trainer, a decision trainer. It is not in this comparison because it has no equity calculator: you cannot enter your own hands or ranges in it. None of the tools below is ours, and none paid to be listed.
Try a decision where equity decides
You are in the big blind with 8♠7♠ on T♠ 6♦ 2♠, then 5♥ on the turn: a flush draw plus an open-ended straight draw. You called the flop, and the button bets 60% of the pot. Fold, call or check‑raise?
Five tools at a glance
| Tool | What it computes | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Equilab | hand and range equity, turn and river scenarios, an equity quiz; a Windows .exe download | free |
| ThinkGTO equity calculator | hand vs hand, hand vs range, range vs range, in the browser; exact when every hand is known | free, no account |
| PokerPro odds calculator | hand vs hand, hand vs range, range vs range, in the browser (simulation) | free, no account |
| Flopzilla | how a preflop range hits a given board | paid (price on its site) |
| PokerStove | the historic freeware; last release in 2008, core libraries now open source | free, not maintained |
Exact equities to check your calculator
Computed by enumerating all 1,712,304 possible boards for each matchup, before the flop (ties count as half).
| Matchup | Equity of the first hand |
|---|---|
| A♠A♥ vs K♣K♦ | 81.3% |
| A♠K♠ vs Q♥Q♦ | 46.2% |
| A♠K♦ vs 2♣2♥ | 47.0% |
| A♠K♦ vs A♣Q♣ | 69.7% |
| 7♥7♣ vs A♠K♦ | 55.4% |
| J♠T♠ vs A♦K♣ | 41.2% |
A calculator that gives the same numbers to the first decimal is computing correctly; a simulation should land within a few tenths.
How to choose
- To study ranges at home: Equilab, if you work on Windows.
- For a quick check on any device: a browser calculator such as ThinkGTO or PokerPro.
- To see how a range connects with a board: Flopzilla.
A calculator gives a number, not a decision
Equity tells you how often a hand wins if all the cards are dealt; it does not tell you whether to call. Compare it with the price of the call, the pot odds, then practice the decision until you no longer need the calculator.
