Best play: Overbet 120% pot
Why
Turn, board Q‑8‑4‑2 (the 4 and 2 are spades; hero holds no spade). Hero T8 has a pair of eights, middle pair with a ten kicker, plus a club draw (Q‑T‑8 of clubs, one card to the flush). Against the capped BB an overbet works as a polarized semi-bluff: it pressures the many Qx-and-worse hands that cannot stand heat, while hero retains club outs and a pair as equity when called. Building the pot now with both fold equity and backup equity is a defensible turn line.
Key idea
On the turn an overbet can carry both fold equity and live equity. A pair plus a flush draw is a textbook semi-bluff overbet against a capped range.
Common mistake
Checking back the turn with a pair-plus-draw 'to keep the pot small'. That surrenders the fold equity and the chance to charge worse Qx on a dynamic board.
